Parents are the Worst

Lucy: Seriously, parents are the worst.

Annie: Lol, tell me about it. What’s happened now?

Lucy: I asked if I could go to the concert with Toby and they said NO, like always! They never let me do anything with him!

Annie: Oh Lucy, seriously? They act like you’re a baby!

Lucy: I know, right? I’m 16, not 6. I should be allowed to go out with my boyfriend, even if they don’t like him!

Annie: My parents said I could go if I look after my little brother next weekend. Which I’ll do, obviously.

Lucy: You are so lucky! What am I going to do this weekend while you and Toby are at the concert!?! My life is so boring!

Annie: You could always sneak out?

Lucy: No way! If they find out, I will be grounded until the end of time.

Annie: Why don’t you just say you are sleeping at my place and I’ll tell my parents that you are allowed to go.

Lucy: You know our parents are best friends! All it would take is one phone call and our plan would be ruined.My parents are so annoying!

Annie: Parents just don’t get it.

Lucy: Plus, they are always complaining that I never do my chores. Clean up your room, wash the dishes, take out the bins. Do this, do that. It never ends.

Annie: Yeah, I’m the one living in my room and I don’t mind the mess.

Lucy: Exactly! I can still find everything.

Annie: They act as if the most important thing in life is a clean house! And if they didn’t go on about it all the time, I wouldn’t mind doing the work.

Lucy: I totally agree. It’s the only thing we talk about at the moment. I’d really like to talk about something other than chores and my grades for a change.

Annie: Seriously, I can’t wait until we’re out of here and we can do whatever we want!

Lucy: Totally, we’ll show them when we’re living on our own. Until then, we’ll just have to make the best of it and hopefully I can go to the next concert.

Annie: Fingers crossed! I will miss you at the concert!

Lucy: Send me lots of pics please!

Annie: Will do!
